چکیده

It is possible that the virus formed in infected tissue derives from an abnormal sequence of some normal metabolic processes of the cell. Thus those enzymatic reactions which lead to the formation of cellular components may also be involved in viral synthesis. One approach to this problem of viral biogenesis is to determine which enzyme systems of the host cell are essential to the process. It is from this view-point that consideration is given in the following study to the relation of certain oxidative reactions of the Krebs cycle to the production of influenza virus.

The Relation of the Krebs Cycle to Viral Synthesis

A further study has been made of the relationship of reactions of the Krebs cycle to the propagation of influenza virus. By the administration of sublethal doses of sodium fluoroacetate which were found to increase the concentration of citrate in the mouse lung, it was possible to demonstrate a blocking of the citric acid cycle in that organ. Further, the intraperitoneal administration of these...

Application of McCoy Cell Line for Propagation of Herpes Simplex Virus Type 1

Herpes simplex virus types 1 (HSV-1) and 2 (HSV-2) are members of the Herpesviridae family. About 40% to 80% of the world populations are infected with HSV and its prevalence is high in Iran. The high prevalence of this virus in the community and the ability of the virus in causing fatal diseases among immunocompromised patients, have encouraged studies to be performed on HSV and suitable cell ...

Evaluating of Iran Razi Khedmati Bovine Kidney (IRKHBK) Cell Line for Isolation and ‎Propagation of Viruses

Abstract Background and Aims: To identify and isolation of viruses a susceptible cell is need which can be primary or line. The use of primary cells is laborious, time consuming and expensive, while the use of cell lines is much easier and faster. IRKHBK cell line was originated from primary cells of bovine kidney by continuous passage. The aim of this study was to introduce the IRKHBK cell ...

Torsional Surface Wave Propagation in Anisotropic Layer Sandwiched Between Heterogeneous Half-Space

The present paper studies the possibility of propagation of torsional surface waves in an inhomogeneous anisotropic layer lying between two heterogeneous half-spaces (upper and lower half-space). Both the half-spaces are assumed to be under compressive initial stress. The study reveals that under the assumed conditions, a torsional surface wave propagates in the medium. The dispersion relation ...
